SOLD!  1957 Standard Microbus, Show Winner, Gorgeous!

This jaw-dropping early 1957 Palm Green over Sand Green Standard wowed the crowd and took 1st Place at the So Cal Vintage Treffen event just 2 weeks ago.  It was fully restored by the passionate and skilled crew at Octavio's Garage in Orange, California and since completion has garnered multiple awards including 2nd Place at Bug-In 34 this Spring.  The Bus was also just photographed for an upcoming feature in VolksWorld magazine.  As you can see it has been reconditioned to a very high standard that is not often realized.  It is sterile in every corner, inside, out, and underneath as well. 
The Bus is also tastefully adorned with many exotic vintage accessories including early European symmetrically fluted headlights, amber Bosch fog lights, fully restored original safari windows, optional in-dash radio, rare accessory ashtrays, optional dash grab handle, NOS WeGu mud flaps, and mint early coat hooks.  This one draws crazy amounts of compliments and admiration of passers by.
The body and paint are absolutely phenomenal, way nicer than just about any other Bus you'll find.  It looks great in the pics and will certainly be found to be equally as impressive in person.  Top quality German Glasurit single stage paint was used and that, combined with Octavio's years of experience with early Buses, has produced an extremely well-done finish.  All of the body components are correct from pressed bumpers, doors, crank start apron, thick lipped doglegs, etc.  Even the undercarriage has been fully detailed.  The Bus is a early 1957 and features original bubble taillights, reflectors, the brakelight decklid, and is also a desirable 6 popout window model.  This Bus is so pretty that it would likely get a nod of appreciation from somebody without a love for old Volkswagen Buses, really.
The interior has been expertly restored to an equally high and beautiful standard and features all 3 early bench seats finished in the proper pleated "Soft Green", perfect mohair headliner, correct heat pleated panels, correct snowflake kick panels, and new rubber floor mats.  The interior is absolutely spotless and as faithfully restored as can be.
Mechanically it sports a generationally correct 1192cc 36hp engine with the centrifugal advance Bosch distributor, Solex 28PCI carb, early aircleaner, and is correct down to the single tip muffler.  It is extremely clean, runs well, and is just as it would have had when the Bus was new 52 years ago.  The transaxle is a fully rebuilt and detailed original split case Bus unit with first gear non-synchronized.  It was done by the respected pros at Rancho Transaxles.  The electrical system is still 6 volts and works as it should.  The tires are brand new Firestone 6.40-15 bias plies which really accentuate the vintage feel of the era the Bus represents.
