1960 India Red Beetle, Nice and Freshly Restored!
Here is a beautiful and freshly completed 1960 Beetle that has seen a complete restoration. This early Beetle has a lot to offer for a very small price!
Some of the many features include new paint, new interior, rechromed German bumpers, brand new and expensive radial wide white wall tires, fresh rebuilt 36hp engine, all new body and window rubber, bamboo parcel tray, the birth certificate from Germany, early California yellow license plates that are registered to it, and a early Volkswagen dealer plate frame, too.
The body is in great shape with a fresh coat of the awesome original color of L451 India Red that looks very nice. All of the body components are proper including the rear H apron, early fenders with snowflake taillights and peanut front blinkers, small license light decklid, and the early flat front hood with the Wolfsburg badge. The hood did see a typical kink repair near the prop but is holding strong and works well. The original German bumpers and other small chrome parts have all been freshly rechromed and look great. The floor pan halves were replaced and the pan is now rock solid, freshly painted top and bottom, and looks very nice as well. All of the window and body rubber was also replaced at the time of the restoration.
The interior is also completely restored with faithful reproductions from TMI. The seat covers, two-toned door panels, carpets, cloth headliner, and rubber floor mats are all brand new. Additionally the original steering wheel was restored and looks and feels just right. Even a set of original style tar boards were installed beneath the floor mats. Everything was done and still smells fresh inside!
Mechanically this Beetle is bone stock and has been completely refreshed including a freshly rebuilt 1192cc 36hp engine, stock and nice working transaxle that was serviced as necessary, all new braking system, rebuilt generator and carburetor, and a spendy set of brand new radial wide white wall tires that are so fresh that they still have the blue protective coating on the white walls! The electrical system is still the factory 6 volt and the wiring looks clean and unmolested as well. The engine, trans, brakes, and beam are all extremely clean, too. It was recently driven to a San Diego car show and performed beautifully without any issues.
This is a very clean and fresh early Beetle that is ready to rock and get loads of thumbs up in traffic. You will have a very hard time finding a nicer and more thoroughly done early Beetle than this for the price! Thanks!
