1963 Turkis Beetle, Great and Solid California Black Plate Car with just 97,000 original miles!

Here we have a super solid, very presentable, and unmolested 1963 Turkis Beetle with just 97,000 original miles.  This is an original California black plate car that came out of the dry climate of El Cajon, California and it shows in how dry and rust free it is now 47 years into its life.  This Beetle has never been abused, has been very lovingly cared for and maintained, and it shows through the great appearance and tight feel of all its systems.

Some of the cool features include the popular original Turkis color, newer Denman bias ply white wall tires, new West Coast Classics interior, being a rust free California black plate car, European style fluted headlight lenses, accessory Volkswagen hood script, reproduction wood slat roof rack, working original Sapphire radio, beautiful running original 40hp engine, dealership plate frame, European taillight lenses, and much more.

The body is in great shape, very straight, and has a older one time exterior respray in the original Turkis color.  There are some chips and small spots of sun fade through on the paint but it still presents nicely for a driver.  The body is very dry, has some very small dings in a few places, I detected no rust anywhere, and the only patching I noted was the small pan section surrounding the battery tray.  The doors, hood, and decklid all move nice, smooth, and snug as they should, unlike a clapped out or neglected car.  This one has been handled gently by attentive and mature owners and it shows through the positive feel.

The interior was recently completely and faithfully restored by West Coast Classics and features original style pleated seat covers, door panels, German square weave carpet, pinpoint vinyl headliner, new rubber mats, new assist straps, Wolfsburg logoed seat belts, mint steering wheel, uncut original dash, mint original glove box liner, and the interior Turkis paint is original!  It is very sterile inside, comfortable, very correct as original, and a peek beneath the floor mats shows super clean original tar boards still intact on the rock solid pan.

Mechanically this Beetle is fully dialed and ready to go.  It features a great running original 40hp engine that starts instantly and just purrs.  There is a huge stack of maintenance receipts that accompany the car and demonstrate that this one has been properly cared for from the beginning.  The electrical system is still the stock 6 volt system and everything works including the original Sapphire radio.  The tires are virtually new Denman 5.60-15 bias ply wide white walls mounted on stock 15 inch smoothies and topped with nice painted logo chrome hubcaps. 

This 1963 is a very respectable and enjoyable driver that clearly displays the love its been given through its nice appearance and more so from the tight and positive feel that only comes through proper care and maintenance.  Thanks!
