1965 Camper Bus, Clean and Dry Driver, Velvet Green!
Here we
have a super solid and respectable old Camper that is the perfect
mixture of nice looking and totally enjoyable as a Bus to use
regularly. It is an older restoration that shows some signs of use but
still displays well and brings compliments too.
Some of the
features include being a desirable original color of Velvet Green,
upgraded 1600 dual port engine, extremely solid body with great floors
and very dry undercarriage, fold-out table, rear seat/bed setup,
icebox, a custom built-in toilet, Westfalia louvered windows, nice
curtains for privacy, and it will even come with an original German
woodslat roof rack. A previous owner cut down the middle legs on the
rack however but it is still fully functional.
The body has an older repaint in the original
color of Velvet Green and looks very respectable for a driver. There
are some stone chips and tiny door ding type imperfections you'd expect
to see on a driver but it is clean overall. A tree branch fell on the
driver's rear roof at one point and you can see the ding it left there
in the numerous pictures as well. The body is extremely solid with
excellent floors, gutters, and rockers. There are a couple small
blisters showing on the long rocker but they are tiny. The outriggers
and jackpoints are very nice and solid and are still covered in factory
undercoating. This is one you could confidently jack up by the factory
jack points without fear of them collapsing under the weight of the
Bus. An afternoons worth of detailing time would no doubt bring out
the shine this Camper has in it.
The
interior is clean and comfortable with newer seat covers, nice wood
grain paneling, fresh linoleum flooring, and very functional plaid
curtains. There is the standard folding rear seat bed setup with
storage below, rear cabinets setup, folding table, original icebox with
storage drawer above, and it is missing the water pump which I believe
can easily be sourced through RV supply stores. A previous owner
custom made his own toilet setup which would be great if you plan to
Camp in remote locations. The cab area is in good shape with a clean
dash featuring an accessory lighter as well as a optional dash clock
like was original fitment on Deluxe models. The cab door panels have
typical warping and could be replaced if that suits your taste. The
wood headliner paneling is in great shape and really adds a tasteful
appeal to the interior.
Mechanically
the Bus is fully turnkey and ready to enjoy. It has received a very
common upgrade of a 1600 dual port engine which runs well. Some of its
details include a 009 distributor and a Bosch blue coil otherwise it is
stock down to the aircleaner assembly. The stock 14 inch Bus wheels
have nice white stripe radial tires with excellent tread as well.
This is a very presentable, enjoyable, and affordable Camper. Spring is here and it's time to Camp out. Thanks!
SOLD!
*Please note that this Bus is located in El Cajon, California and that the custom license plates are not included in the sale.
