1965 Standard Microbus, Clean Custom Driver!
If you are looking
for an affordable and presentable Mild Custom Split Windshield Bus that
will both get you around town and attract attention, this could well be
the Bus you are after. It is almost a conflict of terms these days to
say "affordable", "presentable", and "Split Bus" in the same sentence
but this Bus has a lot to offer for the price.
Some of its many
features include nice fresh custom paint, properly lowered suspension,
BRM wheels with newer low profile tires, fresh custom interior
including all 3 bench seats, 12 volt electrical system upgrade, great
running rebuilt 1600 dual port engine with a ceramic coated performance
exhaust system, modern stereo system, vintage style wood slat roof
rack, beautiful chrome blade bumpers, Mooneyes performance accelerator
pedal, and a cool matching Mooneyes metal picnic cooler just to name a
few.
The
body is very clean, super straight, and is wearing a fresh and nice
coat of custom bright yellow and medium grey metallic paint. It is
definitely eye-catching and has some serious pop to it. Take a look at
the reflection on the long panel, looks pretty damn good! It is very
solid with no areas of rust apparent. There is a patch in the normal
front cab floor corner as well as a reskin of the rocker below the
cargo doors. It is a solid repair but it is something to be aware for
disclosures sake. The undercarriage is very clean and sterile with a
coat of black undercoating as well. This is also a desirable factory 6 popout model which is nice. The decklid that is currently on the Bus is a later version but a correct and freshly painted decklid is included also with the Bus.
The interior is equally as
fresh and nice with all new custom paneling, seat covers, quality heavy
dark grey headliner, and carpets. It is very comfortable and enjoyable
for a custom driver. All 3 rows of seats are present, the dash is
uncut with the factory radio block off plate, original 80mph speedo,
and a nice stereo mounted to the bottom of the parcel tray. There are
speakers mounted up front in the cab panels as well as a larger Bazooka
speaker box out back on the luggage shelf.
Mechanically
this Bus has a very roadworthy drive train with a good running rebuilt
1600 dual port engine with a brand new stock carb, alternator, new
Bosch blue coil, new distributor, and a quality ceramic coated header
and muffler system. The suspension includes a lowered front end with
adjusters, straight axle rear end, new performance shocks all around,
fresh low profile tires all around, and cool aftermarket BRM wheels.
It has a cool stance, enough power to keep up on the road, and modern
sounds to please you and your passengers.
This Bus is ready for daily driving and is certainly a lot of cool
looking Bus for small dollars. I seriously doubt this one will last.
