1967 Porsche 912 Sunroof

1967 Porsche 912, California Black Plate Car, Rare Manual Sunroof!

Here's a solid and respectable 1967 912 that has had just one registered owner since new.  The original California title from 1967 that reflects these California black license plates is still with the car as well.

The original owner grew too elderly to drive the car and gifted it to his mechanic back in 1997.  It went into storage at that time and was just recently awakened from its 16 year slumber.  It is now running again, the engine is strong, and it is currently running and driving although the brakes are sticking.  However, due to the long storage, the car should be thoroughly serviced including brakes, tires, and other general servicing you'd expect on a car that's been in storage for so many years.

Some of the interesting features include the rare manual sunroof, the special-order color of Silver, the original tool roll is present, and the vastly original interior is in impressive condition as well.  A peek at the underside will also show just how dry and solid a car it is, too.

The body is impressively clean and solid and is currently displaying a older repaint in the original color of Silver.  The paint is dull and chalky and won't polish out too much.  The good news is that you can see how dry and honest the body is through the lack of significant issues showing through that older paint job.  The front driver's floor area was repaired many years ago and is more of a functional repair than an ideal one by today's standards.  The battery box also has some typical surface rust and holes on the topside but is unusually solid from the underside.

The interior is impressively clean and is very original throughout.  The time the car spent with the mature original owner and then in indoor storage has gone a long way to keep the interior nicely intact for its 46 years.  Some simple cleanup and detailing will certainly bring it up to a nice condition.

Mechanically the car does start, run, and drive.  The mechanicals are stock throughout and as previously mentioned, will require some long-storage related servicing before it's ready to be a trustworthy regular driver.

Here's your chance at an interesting Vintage Porsche with great bones and potential at a sensible price.  Thanks!
