1967 Westfalia Hardtop, Velvet Green, Just 50,042 Original Miles!
Here we have a very
impressive, super original, and very desirable 1967 Westfalia Camper Bus in mostly original Velvet Green paint!
Some
of the many features include the super nice and correct SO42 Westfalia
interior, clean, straight, and presentable body, being a factory 12 volt
Bus, original 1500 single port engine, big nut transaxle, beautiful
aluminum on the original
jalousie windows, dealer optioned gas heater in the front cab, vintage
period water transfer and travel decals, vintage matched picnic gear and
cooler, and much more.
The body is impressively clean and
presentable and displays the vast majority of the original L512 Velvet
Green (Samtgrun) paint. The doors, decklid, apron, and pointed end
bumpers are all correct for the Bus as well. The rockers were repaired
on both sides long ago and have been paint blended to match. The work
was not superb and could be something you'd want to redo to a higher
standard depending upon your personal taste. The floors and
undercarriage are nice and unusually solid as you can see as well. The
aluminum jalousie window frames are exceedingly nice and far above
average. Overall the body looks very nice and respectable to say the
least.
The interior is extremely nice, clean, and very original,
too. It features original Velvet Green paint, super clean original
mustard cushions, clean woodgrain paneling, proper grey pressboard
panels in the cab, beautiful Salt and Pepper seat covers, and an uncut
original dash with the proper 1967 radio block off plate still in place
and even the original windshield washer bottle, too. Other features
include the rear folding seat/bed, cabinets,
storage compartments, folding table, superb original spice rack, water
pump, and original icebox, too. This interior has survived incredibly
well over the last 44 years!
Mechanically this Westfalia is bone stock with a factory 1500 single
port engine, big nut "freeway flier" transaxle, and a desirable factory
12 volt electrical system. This Bus has been part of a very large
Vintage Transporter collection for some years and while it does run,
drive, and stop, you should expect to do some light service related work
such as brake inspection, fuel lines, fresh gasoline, and a thorough
road test before venturing out on any heavy duty camping trips. The
combination of a factory 1500 single port, big nut transaxle, and
original 12 volt system makes the 1967 model year arguably the most
roadworthy of all of the Split Bus years.
This is a great opportunity to own a beautiful and desirable low mileage
Westfalia Camper Bus that has averaged just over 1100 miles per year
since it was new in 1967! Thanks!
