1969 Deluxe Sunroof Bus, Original Brilliant Blau Paint, So Cal Import in THE NETHERLANDS!
Here is one of the most solid Bays we've ever seen, a true desert
survivor in the original Brilliant Blau Paint! It has just arrived
from sunny Southern California and is available in ROTTERDAM, THE
NETHERLANDS.
The body is as dry as you'll ever find, super straight, and has a
handful of skims of filler that were done long ago that really should
be blended and buffed to match the awesome mild patina of the rest of
the Bus. There is just the perfect sun fade on the paint with primer
showing through in such a cool way. The rockers, undercarriage,
floors, and front wheel closeouts are unbelievably rock solid. This
Bus lived in the dry desert climate and it will be blatantly apparent
when you see it in person. There is a hole in the one rocker that is not rust but something punctured it years ago. There is some rust perforation around the
sides of the sunroof and a couple tiny spots on the front floor as pictured but that is the extent of structural rust we've found on the
Bus. Even the wheels and bumpers are original paint.
The interior will require some attention, particularly in the rear, but
that will allow opportunity to customize it to your taste. The rear floors
are super clean and the rear could literally be waxed as the original
paint on it is still as thick as the day the Bus left Volkswagen.
Mechanically the Bus is a runner and driver currently with completely
refreshed brakes, nice tread on the white stripe radials, and a 1600 cc
engine that could use a bit of service although it runs fair now.
Basically the Bus was parked for years prior to us reviving it and
shipped out before we had before we had a chance to give it a thorough
service and blend the paint spots as we would have liked. With those
details sorted you'll have a very nice looking and rock solid original
paint driver.
Thanks!
